RELATIONSHIP REFLECTIONS:

" Human relationships, and the relationships on relationships, are the building blocks of healthy development(Shonkoff & Phillips,200,p.4.)

Relationships are a continual process of growth, and to fully enjoy them we need skills, information, inspiration, practice, and social support (Center for Spirtuality and Healing,2013).

Family is the essential center of my relationships. In this circle are people related to me by birth, marriage, and those who share my beliefs, offer security, support, care, and helps to build up my self-esteem. But most importantly show their unconditional love. The people that are a part of my life that I have a positive relationship with are,  my lord and savior Jesus Christ, my husband Darrell, my two sons, Scotty & Kyle, my mother, Josephine, and my co- workers, who provide me with solid advice and helps to lift me up when I need it the most.

Factors that I feel that contribute to having a positive relationship with all the people involved in making my life less stressful are: First I always keep in mind that even though things may not be or going the way they should go, I have to always keep in mind that I have to treat others the way I would like to be treated. Secondly, we are all different, have different opinions, and views , so I have to listen, and know when to speak, and how to speak. Lastly, the most important factor, never say anything that you can not take back, be very careful with your WORDS. A special characteristic of these relationships is LOVE, because if you love someone, you never want to do any thing to hurt them, always to help.

My experiences through this point in my life has been very changeable, some good, some not so good. The impact of some of these experiences has strenghten me to learn how to work with others, to listen, be fair, to try in controlling my biases, especially when working with children and their families. Things are not always what they seem to be. Sometimes, as a educator, I have to take a step back, take a look at the whole picture, and ask my self questions. So, far being effective has come from time in the field, experiences, people, and opportunities.

I want to share some quotes I found on Brainy QUOTES!

There is no more lovely, friendly and charming relationship, communion or company than a good marriage. ( Martin Luther).

However successful you are, there is no substitute for a close relationship. We all need them. (Francesca Annis).

Whenever you're in conflict with someone, there is one factor that can make the difference between damaging your relationship and deepening it. Thatcontinue seeking solutions to difficult problems, and to stay focused during stressful periods. ( Denis Waitley).

Quote about children: " The more children know that you value them, that you consider them  extraordinary people, the more willing they will be to listen to you and afford you the same esteem. And the more appropriate your teaching, based on your knowledge of them, the more eager your children will be to learn from you. . And the more they learn, the more extraordinary they will become."
M. Scott Peck, American Psychiatrist and author of "The Road Less Travelled".
